Im from India and like this blog. Im a Diploma Survey Engineer and there is very few quality surveying blog in net. In India there is a surveying blog which provide Surveyors resourses http://govtsurvey.blogspot.in/
Whenever I see a surveyor like this, I often think back to the times of Lewis and Clark and the surveying they did for the betterment of our nation. One of my favorite merit badges to receive as a boy scout was the pioneering merit badge, which is essentially surveying. I wonder what his equipment costs?
So that is what a land surveyor is and does. I had no idea this is what they did in the first place. That is quiet the job and I see these kinds of people all the time. It is not something that you see everyday. Jak Manson | http://www.burgetassociatesinc.com
I didn't really understand what a surveyor did until my cousin became one. He told me at a family dinner all the things that he does and it was pretty cool. I think that doing surveys is a very important job. http://www.parkerscanlon.com.au/services.html
I had no clue what a surveyor until now. I always saw them but didn't know what they were doing. I did some research about land surveyors and found this website.
My neighbor is a land surveyor and loves the job. He never has to worry about sitting in a desk all day. That would be a big plus. http://www.burgetassociatesinc.com
Thanks for the link. I'm not sure how I feel about the new change, even though it seems like it will help everyone. With a change like that, it always seems like there's a catch. What are your opinions on the subject?
I always see these people on the corner of the intersection by my house. I never knew what it was for, but now I do! Thanks so much for the information!
I didn't know they still did land surveying to this day. That is really interesting. I would see people outside using instruments like this but I didn't really think of them surveying the land. You see them doing construction most times I thought it was to line up the house to the road.
Land surveying is a very complex task. Thanks for the blog, it was very informative! I was thinking about getting into land surveying ever since I got laid off of my old job. My perspective has definitely changed. -Jesse White| http://www.asam1.com/asamservices.html
I also didn't know they did land surveying. My husband and I were talking about wanting to have it done, but didn't think we could. Who is a good person to contact if we are wanting to have our land surveyed? Thanks for the help!
I have always seen land surveying as a commercial thing. Is it really something that is also done for residential land as well? I am curious as to the benefit it might have for residential property. http://www.rapiersurveying.com/news.html
What sort of reasons would you have for having residential land surveying done. It's really cool that they do that sort of thing. I can see why you would do it for large buildings or even groups of buildings. There's a lot of weight to support there. Residential seems like it would need it just as well.
I think that it is very important to get land surveying done if you're going to buy a piece of land or a lot. My brother in law works with land surveying and he really enjoys what he gets to do. There is more than just residential land surveying, even thought that is important. Thanks for sharing this information!
I've only really ever worked with residential land surveying. I'm thinking of buying a lot for my new business, but I think I'm going to need a different kind of land surveyor to make sure everything is good. I want to make sure my business starts off on the right foot. http://www.ayersconsulting.co m
I know relatively little about surveying. I respect those who do it though. It seems a little bit too complicated for me. http://www.stevepalmersurveys.com.au
Land surveying can be done by anyone if they are trained well enough. In order to perform this kind of surveying you will need to be equipped with the right kind of equipment. If you are not it will be very difficult to do correctly.
I've always wondered how land surveyors do their jobs and what they are doing exactly. I finally decided to find out and this has some awesome insights on what I've been looking for. Looks like there is a lot of training and knowledge that go into it if someone is looking to become good at it.
That really is a great picture of that guy out surveying. I took a class one time where we learned how to use all of this equipment. I thought that it was really interesting, but I didn't realize how complicated it could be. http://plsurvey.com/aboutpls.htm
My brother needs to do some land surveying for his job. Unfortunately, he has no idea how to do it. He will have to hire a land surveyor to do it for him. He thinks that he will be able to hire a land surveyor for a good price. http://www.grayse.gs/surveying.php
Land surveying is a pretty important job. I didn't think that there was a lot that went into it until I found out that was how they made blueprints and brought things to actual scale. It would be really hard without a surveying team to map out the land bought. http://www.albertageo.com/drupal/?q=services-page
It looks like there is a lot of special equipment needed for a job like this. There must be a lot of important information gained from land surveying. I wonder what all they would use it for. http://www.lortzsurveying.com/
You always see these things that look like cameras that land surveyors use as their main tool. I'm interested to know what it does exactly, because you don't see them anywhere else. My guess is, that they are used to see how much land there is in the picture. Maybe it can tell if there's any contamination in the ground too. I'd love to know if I was close at all to guessing what that piece of equipment is. http://www.mwasurveys.com.au
